My famous Rat Pack show and all the dirt! Here we are at Bogarts at the pinnacle of this shows run. After 2 years of work looking for people to put this together, finally on my 2nd rezday I had the opportunity to perform the show at Bogarts. Before Bogarts joined the Frank's Place conglomerate. This was the icing on the cake. I had hoped from the beginning to have performed this show exclusively for Frank's Place for free. I started as a noob there, looking for a way to contribute to the group like a good soldier. I don't have a big business background and even less computer skills at that time. This was the only way I could make an impact, I succeeded in that but not as I'd hoped LOL. I started at Frank's Place when it was a small casino called Oasis Slingo 5 years ago.
Unfortunately my partners thought it be a great idea to hit up Frank's place to do the show for cash. "Not my idea."Not MY plan!
Communication is probably the most difficult thing in SL. Misunderstandings and emotions can run high. If your part of a group, you are at the mercy of the owner who can eject you for any reason. I've never liked groups or tags since. I prefer to have a good friends list.
Owner of Frank's Place was Gymmy Sinatra. He was a big Sinatra fan. I happened to like Dean Martin better hehe. This inspired me to build the show. I thought it be a great surprise for Gym and that he'd love it and we could perform the show together with him as Frank me as Deano. Great idea that was lol. I invited him to see the show at another venue so he could see how good it was. My reward was getting booted from Franks and accused of copying him. Copying in SL is like sleeping with someone else's wife, maybe worse! Right Gym? LOL.
The group I found to help me were even worse. Talented and very good performers but I didn't like how they did business. They claimed my show was theirs. I created it, cast it, produced and directed it but they took all the money. Lightning Productions, like most if not all the big tribute groups out there only had dollar signs in there eyes. Recently they put up MY VIDEO of the RAT PACK show on YOU TUBE. I paid to have this video done and now they're using it to promote their show. It was recorded at my club, Dean's Vegas with me as Deano. Have a look before I have it taken off lol.
I had other friends to help me so I dropped Lightning and did it at Bogarts the first time with new players. Unfortunately these people were even worse. They scammed me with Alts, loading up my show with people I did not need or want. I was expected to pay them all, not realizing the 12 are really only 2 or 3 people. L5000 per show divided by 12. I got one share and my 2 partners got the rest because they used alts. They had bad ideas like using violins in a jazz band? Am I wrong or does that sound right to you? I dumped them when I tried to cut expenses (because they were robbing me) I wanted smaller land, a place just big enough for a stage to work on the shows. My group ran to the L.A. Yacht club. Bigger room. I could see my band was about to pull the same scam again and warned the owner. I got banned. Figures. They now call themselves "Stage One Productions".
Today I'm doing burlesque shows for The Moulin Rouge. One act shows mostly with more trustworthy people by far. I've been with them a long time, so long I forget lol. Maybe 3 years at least.
Find REAL friends in SL, it makes all the difference in the world.
I'm looking forward to future projects probably live singing next.
